2025-26 Clubs and Activities Descriptions
WCS Club Activities
Band/Orchestra
Fifth and sixth-grade students have the opportunity to participate in band or orchestra. Band students continue to learn the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, or percussion instruments. Orchestra students continue to learn violin, viola or cello. Students attend small group lessons during the school day as part of their weekly UA schedule. Full-band and full-orchestra rehearsals take place outside of the school day so that students can learn how to rehearse as an ensemble as well. The club meets for five weeks, usually every Thursday in January. The program offers a chance for new skiers and snowboarders to take lessons or for intermediate riders to enhance their skills. The students have lessons from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and then free skiing and snowboarding from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Students have a mandatory check in between 5 and 5:30. If this check in is missed, the student may not attend the next session. It's important to note that this club leaves Windham Center School at 1:30 p.m., and students are responsible for any missed work. The club arrives back at the school at 8:00 p.m.

Stride
Stride Club is an inclusive group that gives participants an introduction to running/walking techniques, while reinforcing a healthy lifestyle, leaving out the stress of competition, and making fun the main goal! This club is for all athletic abilities, therefore your student does not need to be a runner to join! Stride Club will help students find their own pace and build their confidence! At the end of the group, students will be prepared to participate in a 5K (caregivers will be provided a list of local 5Ks, but students will NOT be participating in a race as a group).
