Over Memorial Day weekend, five fifth-grade students from Windham Center School traveled to Kansas City, Missouri, to compete in the Destination Imagination Global Finals, an international creative problem-solving competition that drew approximately 10,000 participants representing 600 teams from 11 countries and 28 U.S. states. Destination Imagination is a global STEAM-based program that challenges students to work collaboratively to solve complex creative problems. Teams choose from six challenge categories — including technical, scientific, fine arts, improvisational, engineering, and service learning — and spend months designing and presenting their solutions at tournaments. Representing Windham Center School in the Improvisational Challenge were Rowen Karthik, Oliver Keating, Ryker Ramos, Connor Smith-Chang, and Sean Westcott - Team NH Shockwave.
